Rolly-olly-o
By Liz - Posted on December 13th, 2007
I always think it's funny when topics like this cause me to notice things I neglected before. I was looking for something on the Frick site and noticed their Rolly-o search engine!

As for my search engine, did one to cover the major Buffy sites, entitled Buffyland.

Information Monopoly
By Liz - Posted on November 20th, 2007
As most people in the information science world, I am watching the
debut of Amazon's Kindle with great interest. And I can already hear
from sects of my friends saying "told you libraries were no longer
necessary" and I can hear the other side saying "it will never replace

Archives, libraries and politics

A very interesting article regarding the opening of Clinton's presidential library can be found on at the Chicago Tribune: http://www.chicagotribune.com/services/newspaper/printedition/monday/chi...
What is I find most interesting is the fact that Hillary Clinton's presidential rivals want the library fully accessible to dig up things to use against her. It makes me wonder if this is the type of situation that is going to put America's archivists in the forefront again.

By the way, I am absolutely in love with Zotero. Anyone who does an extensive amount of research online will find it absolutely invaluable. I also just came across Diigo http://www.diigo.com/help/about
Their site is pretty awesome as well. Waiting for my invite to try the new application out. But you gotta love anything that lets you create virtual sticky notes!
Speaking of folksonomies

Tagged: Folksonomies Tagging
Tagging was compared in class to what libraries have been doing forever, making controlled vocabularies. And to illustrate that, just wanted to share the new thesaurus on the American Folklore's Society Page. http://et.afsnet.org/
