I've had a Second Life avatar for about 6 months, but because my laptop doesn't have capacity to run Second Life I'm stuck with only my 1st Life. I am however curious about what my avatar does when I'm not around!

I work with an arts organization (National Black Arts Festival) we actually just had our first Second Life event about a month ago. It was a jazz concert broadcast in Secon Life. It went pretty well!

OOAs are great. I still feel a little wierd about my docs floating out in cyberspace, but this too shall pass!

I selected pbwiki for my wiki site, but I think I'm gonna try a few other templates. This one is kind of bland. I'd like to find a wiki where all the pages I create appear as tabs on my home page. Of course I am using the free version, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much!

Ok, for whatever reason I had a little resistance to the start page process. I guess I had doubts about how helpful it would be in my life. But I've been converted. After a long crazy day I logged onto my start page just to see what was going on in Atlanta and it was soooo cool to have all the info right there. I thought I would miss seeing the graphics of each site, but having all the info at my fingertips was GREAT!!!

Ok, I understand, theoretically, that having all my news of interest delivered to one place is supposed to make my life easier, and it has... I guess. I've never stopped to calculate all the hours I've spent surfing through my favorite websites getting the latest 411 on current events, health tips and secret indulgences like celebrity gossip, but no doubt having all this info deposited into one place is saving me time, but at what cost.

I must admit I am a little overwhelmed by all the things to consider before starting a blog. It's one thing to pick up an old journal after 10 years and reflect on what you've written, but it's another thing to consider one's words floating around in cyberspace for a future employer to google.

At some point I know I'll just jump in the water, but for now only one toe at a time!
