If you are concentrating on archives, or simply like van Gogh, I recommend the exhibit at the Morgan Library on the correspondence between van Gogh and his friend Emile Bernard.

The letters are filled with sketches and descriptions of the paintings they exchanged and it's interesting to compare how they communicated with the way we're exchanging information now.

In case some of you did not see the kiosk post, I thought you may be interested in checking out the New York Art Book Fair this weekend (September 28th-30th) at 548 West 27th Street b/t 10th & 11th Avenues in Chelsea. It offers contemporary art books, art catalogues, art periodicals & art magazines, some very rare & many reasonably priced.
