Tweet I Shall

Well, I am now a Twitter-er, Tweeter, one who tweets....

My username is gennabuhr, if you'd like to follow me through my Twitter journey.

I'm not sure if I'll keep up with it much after class is done, but I can see where it would be an important tool for libraries trying to reach out (especially for promoting events and programs).   The character limit may be a bit stifling for promotions-sake, but it allows enough for an eye-catching or attention-grabbing title, a date, and a link back the library's website.  I think a lot of social tools (like Facebook updates, Tweets, SMS messages) are effective for driving traffic back to the library's website (where lengthier, more descriptive details are waiting!).

From a personal standpoint, I have a feeling I'd use it more if I were to tweet from my cell phone.  I know that it can be done, in general...I just don't have texts set up in my mobile package.  I'm cheap like that. Hehehe. :)

By the way, anyone else not able to get the tune to Rockin' Robin out of their head after all of this talk of tweeting? Ha!
