The blog I chose is for the staff of the Las Vegas Clark County Library system and is called Virtual Library Notes:  http://virtualnotes.wordpress.com/

I like this blog because:

1.       It is easy to look at and follow: Not cluttered, nice use of white space, some color, orderly. Looks professional.

2.       It is inviting: On the "about" page it invites staff to comment, saying “We would encourage staff to post comments.”

3.       The Library logo is not visible but both "home" and "about" pages let readers (staff) know who they are, by saying, “Keeping LVCCLD staff updated on Virtual Library Happenings”. The Las Vegas Clark County blogs that are seen by the public do have the logo visible, which makes me think that they know what they are doing. This adds an element of trust in the blog creators and the library system staff.

4.       The posts are all tagged and easy to look up by subject.

5.       The Blogroll lists the other Clark County Library blogs including one called “Technology Advisory Committee”: http://lvccldtac.wordpress.com/ The “Technology Advisory Committee” blog also lists two other technology blogs, one is Kroski’s iLibrarian and the other is Librarian in Black.

6.       The blog (Virtual Library Notes) seems to be effective and staff discusses topics (seen in the Category field) on “Trial Databases”, “Top Websites” and “Demonstrations”, to name a few.

7.       Blog posts are up to date.

8.       You can subscribe to RSS feeds which download to iGoogle and/or Google Reader.

All in all the Clark County Library system has some good blogs. Virtual Library Notes is my favorite, though the Technology Advisory Committee blog is a close second.
