After attending the Elluminate session tonight and practicing with multiple feeds digests, I realized I do have a use for this application in my library literacy program.
In literacy, we are all consumed with funding issues right now, as are most programs in libraries, and creating a multiple feed digest to bring in feeds from various news sources would be helpful.
Example: I am a member of BaLit, Bay Area Literacy. BaLit sends out emails to me on the latest news in funding. I also get updates from the state. I also get updates from other literacy organizations and California State Library. You get the picture.
Right now Oakland's Second Start is being threatened and may close. We are all watching the events wondering if our friends will keep their jobs and if the City of Oakland will continue have a literacy program for the many adults who need these services.
Wouldn't it be nice to have all of these news sources fed into one place? That would be so much better than scrambling to find the latest funding news.
I think I'll create a blog and do it!

With development divisions struggling right now, something like this would be very helpful to those individuals responsible for keeping the donations flowing. It would even be handy for those of us who are always looking for new venues of funding for special programs. A lot of public libraries rely on their "Friends" for funding special events, but in reality, there are tons of opportunities. What a great idea for staying on top of these!
