Wetpaint wiki as an example of a website everyone can build together

This Wetpaint wiki I created is an example of a space that Ready-To-Read Volunteers and Children's Librarians could use to easily collaborate and share ideas and resources for storytimes that we are developing. I have been preparing and presenting storytimes representing my local public library for a year now and have always thought how nice it would be to collaborate with others in a virtual space where resources and storytime plans that can inspire a perfect storytime are easily accessible. In setting up this wiki I have populated it with links and references to favorite on and off-line resources I have found over the course of a year. It could foreseeably also accommodate actual storytime plans that can be easily uploaded and linked to success story posts that are contributed by member users in the community. Missing from this are favorite picks from my LibraryThing library that I would have liked to add, but I am limited by the choice of widgets that can be added through Wetpaint. A simple adjustment of settings can render this website as a private intranet for staff and volunteers to collaborate in a private setting online.

What a nice job!  That would be so helpful to newcomers.  I am laughing at the comparison with an overstuffed file cabinet with old yellowing ideas at a library where I worked!

Hi Novus,

Your wiki is really great. I especially like the "Blogs and Feeds" section and how you have incorporated so much into the wiki.

Your wiki is such a nice example of how we can use wikis in our work. I am inspired by this.
