I used PBWorks to create a wiki because I wasn't so hot on Wetpaint's Google or banner ads. For the past several months I've been promising to re-do the website for my son's elementary school and thought it might be interesting to see how it would work as a wiki that all the PTA members could edit.
Here's the wiki: http://emersonelementary.pbworks.com/FrontPage.
I agree with a few other posters that the navigational tools in PBWorks aren't that intuitive, but I do like the more professional interface.

Jodi,
You did a great job on your Emerson Elementary wiki. It's not only business-like but it's easy to navigate. I actually prefer wikis of this nature over the bells and whistles of many of the wetpaint wikis. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
I think that this is wonderful way of using a wiki. Parent involvement is one of the most important ingredients in a school's success. However, it is one of the more difficult to attain. Sure, you have the 10% who always show up. A wiki may be a way to get more parents invloved in the school. It's a great way to keep parents updated. If parents see that other parents are involved they are more likely to join the bandwagon.
