I couldn't resist answering this question, as we just finished Battlestar Galactica and this assignment gives me an opportunity to (finally) see what fans have been saying about the show while doing homework! How cool is that?
Sadly, though, the site doesn't have as much content as I wanted (discussion dropped off right around the time of the series finale earlier this year), but it was fun to look through. Created in Wetpaint, the wiki has some nice graphical elements that would have been very hard to create in PBWorks (see the Frackmap for an example -- but don't click anything unless you want spoilers!). The navbars on top also make it easy to find the type of content you want to see (Discussions, Photos, Videos, Updates, etc.) Here, the ubiquitous ads didn't bother me so much because I was looking at a commercial site.
I love, love, love Wikipedia and can't live without it (who could?). So I checked out Wikitravel. It's very similar in layout to Wikipedia, so I was already familiar with the navigation and placement of items. Perhaps because of this familiarity, I really enjoyed using Wikitravel. It's clean, easy to navigate, and interesting content, organized by subject, is offered up on the front page for browsing.
Then I looked at the Card Sorting wiki on PBWorks because I'm really interested in human-computer interaction. The content was great (thanks, Ellyssa!) but the layout was my least favorite of the three. PBWorks really seems to be more about collaboration within an organization than presenting information to an specific audience in an intuitive, aesthetically pleasing way. For example, the second line of text on the page is who last edited it, and the two tabs are simply "view" and "edit." But after looking at Genna's Google Sites page, I'm not convinced that PBWorks is the best even for inhouse communication.
