I've been assigned to do a blog with entries for 35 Young Adult Titles (http://mlissinginaction.blogspot.com/) and am considering keeping the blog going by posting more of my coursework (things like discussion board posts) as I continue through the program.

But then it occured to me that while the work would be my own, the assignments belongs to the professors.  So would it be rude or unethical to post  blogs based on class assignments?

In what ways do you think that you as a librarian or information worker can benefit from RSS technology?

Of course, there are countless ways RSS technology benefits librarians.  Custom content direct to an inbox or RSS reader is an important advancement in the way information is distributed. However, I think one benefit for librarians that may be overlooked is the benefit that RSS provides librarians publishing for the profession.

Ever since reading about the Seattle Cental Library and its incredible new building (thanks to a $20M gift from Bill and Melinda Gates), I've been intrigued by the idea of a library as a place to create as much as to consume. This blog is funcitonal and effective in many ways.  

I stumbled on what I thought was an outstanding academic library blog for a course assignment on organizational library blogs--the Virginia Tech Libraries News blog. I found it through the blogging libraries wiki, and I chose it knowing that this library uses a lot of Web 2.0 technology.

I like Drexel’s blog setup, it is simple and straightforward and not cluttered with gadgets.

Please be sure that the blog you introduce to the class for this week's assignment is an organizational one - librarian individual blogs are great but not what we're looking at for this lesson.  I want you to demonstrate that you understand what makes up a good library blog based on the lectures and readings.  As I mention in the second part of the lecture for this week, you can find library blogs listed on the Blogging Libraries Wiki, and be sure and tell us all a bit about w
